TSC Agent travels 200KM to deliver transfer letter
The Teachers Service Commission has raised tension and distress amongst Kenyans Teachers across the country after launching a Transfer ‘purge’. Teachers have been receiving their transfer laters in an unorthodox manner even hundreds of kilometres away from their offices. Lately, the latest tutor to receive his transfer later in one bizzarre manner.
The TSC official travelled upto 200 Kilometres to Mr Kirui who was in Hospital taking tace of his wife.
The Teachers Service Commission Agent carried the letter fron Mr Kirui’s place of work at Eldoret, to Olenguruone where he was at hospital waiting for his wife to deliver.
The transfer letter clearly declared that Kirui had been moved from Uasin Gishu to Lamu County. Mr Kirui had requested the TSC officials to come check on his wife but the officials made their intentions clear.
They reminded him that their role was to deliver the Transfer letter and confirm that the specific teacher had been served.
Mr Kirui told our reporters how the officials have demanded photos of her wife as proof that his wife was in hospital.
He drew the line and stood for his privacy since the officials were intruding family matters at that point.
Upon refusing to send the photos, the Commission decided to send an official to travel more than 200 Kilometres away to serve Kirui his transfer letter.
Other teachers like Mrs Martha Omollo have also faced the wrath of the TSC transfer purge after being transfered from Nairobi to Trans Nzoia.
Mrs Omollo had received a call from TSC through her headteacher and a warning to be careful about what she says to the Press and Media.
