Frequently Asked Questions

How much do driving lessons cost in Qatar?

The fee may vary depending on several factors. The light driving course starts from QR2250 (half) and the motorcycle lessons start from QR1250 (half). Driving schools may also charge learning permit fees, test fees, theory among others apart from the lesson fees.

If you are already licensed from your country of origin, you may apply for the half course after being approved by the MOI Traffic Department

Eye tests are from QR30.

What are the requirements to register for driving schools in Qatar?

  • A copy of your QID (note that your profession indicated on your QID must be eligible to apply for a driving license)
  • Passport-size photo
  • Eyesight test results from the driving school or an accredited eye centre

Some driving schools require no objection letter from the sponsor and a copy of Company Registration for employees.

You will need to be at least 18 years old to apply for a light vehicle license and over 21 to apply for a heavy vehicle license.
