- Tourist CS, Najib Balala has announced that tourists in Kenya who want to go home via Nairobi have till Monday to do so.
- While international flights into Kenya have not been affected, Nairobi is among the counties under lock-down.
- Domestic flights in Kenya are scheduled to stop on 29th March 2021.
Kenya’s Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Najib Balala has announced that both international and domestic tourists who were stuck in their destinations have till Monday to go back home via Nairobi. This is due to the presidential orders that imposed a lockdown on 5 counties in Nairobi included. The CS noted that international flights were not halted and those arriving had to adhere to the covid-19 prevention measures and protocols.
“Tourists who are in transit into the country and are scheduled to visit offerings out of Nairobi can only do so until Monday 29 mid-day. Post that date, they will only be confined into Nairobi,” He said.
Domestic flights have been suspended as from 29th march 2021 till further notice. This means that arriving visitors shall have to stay within Nairobi. Restaurants and eateries in the highlighted counties have also been ordered to do take away only. The curfew hours in the 5 counties were revised to 8:00pm-4:00am.
